Dic Ann’s Tacos
Ingredients
Servings: 4
12 taco shells or 12 soft tortillas
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 white onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 jar of Dic Ann’s sauce
1 small head of iceberg lettuce, shredded
1 tbsp chili powder
Optional:
Salsa
Tex-Mex cheese
Sliced avocado
Cook the onion, garlic and bell pepper in a large saucepan with a little oil until golden (medium heat).
Add the meat, a pinch of salt and the chili powder. Stir everything together and break up the meat to get a finer texture and to spread the spices evenly, until the meat is fully cooked.
Stir and add the jar of Dic Ann’s sauce.
Simmer the meat over medium heat for about 15 mins and let it reduce to the desired consistency.
For tortillas: In a large non-stick pan, brown the tortillas on both sides, 1 minute per side over high heat
For taco shells: Follow the package instructions.
Assemble to your taste.
Optional extras: Salsa, avocado, cheese
