Grilled Cheese
Servings: 2-4
- 4 slices of bread
- Sharp cheddar cheese, sliced
- “Baseball” yellow mustard
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp vegetable, canola or avocado oil
- 1 jar of Dic Ann’s sauce
- 1 tbsp butter
Stir the jar of Dic Ann’s sauce and empty it into a saucepan.
Heat the Dic Ann’s sauce (bring to a boil)
In a saucepan, sauté the finely chopped 1/2 onion in a little oil over medium heat
Once lightly golden, add 4 tbsp of Dic Ann’s sauce and let it reduce for about 2 minutes.
In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter, place 2 slices of bread and put a slice of cheese on each slice of bread.
Spread the cooked onion mixture over the cheese. (more for 2 people, less for 4)
Take the 2 remaining slices of bread, spread them with “Baseball”-style yellow mustard and place them on top to close each sandwich.
Cook until golden on each side, about 4 minutes over medium heat. Be careful not to burn the bread.
Cut the grilled cheese in half and serve with 1 ramekin of sauce for dipping your sandwich.
